cb and little miss sunshine in taguig

i was able to watch rihanna and chris brown concert, though all i got was a silver ticket - i still managed to watch the concert (too bad, there are some people who doesn't believe i was there. well, i can't force them to believe me - what will i get if i do right? WML!!! ) ANYWAYS, i was with my college friend rich but he went home early because of his nausea alibi. lol PEACE richmond :)

i was able to get in the concert grounds before chris brown's opening. i thought he will just appear somewhere from the back but he surprised the audience when he appeared from a cable suspended in the air (think of beyonce's mtv performance. hehe) chris was cute pala in person. hehe. he sang almost all his hits songs including yo! (with matching mulatta girl in black making pakipot and flirty at the same time) no air, forever etc. what i like the most about his stint was the michael jackson number. galing sumayaw ng thriller grabe! :) there was a DJ booth in the right portion of the satge and the DJ keeps on saying that there's an after party that will be held in alchemy (i miss jaja - booz nyts. hehe) though i'm kinda skeptic if the two (rihanna and CB) will be there though chris said that he will be there but i really doubt it. lol

after CB there was an almost 30 minute break which i find really tiring considering that it's a jampacked venue and we're all standing - good thing there was a fire works display which i think lasted almost for 15 minutes atleast there was something to watch while they are fixing rihanna's stage. after pink's so what and britney's womanizer - rihanna started her number with disturbia. i was stunned when i saw her wearing a "tangga" (spelling?) haha! tangga kung tangga ang lola mo.

my favorites from her are the hate that i love you and the shut up and drive number. with matching liyad parang nag li-limbo rock. haha grabe galing! though i was kinda na turn-off kay rihanna because he said something like make some m*therf*ckin' noise when she noticed that the audience is quiet. panung hindi tatahimik eh kase after nung opening na disturbia, di na alam ng audience yung mga kinanta nya. haha. lol

i like the part when she sang please don't stop the music. there were a lot of adlibs including the lyrics from BEP's Bebot yung Filipino! Filipino! Filipino Filipino! - as replacement for mamase-makusa-mamakusa. hahaha! kalurkey :)

As expected, they shared the stage only once - the finale song which is umbrella. sweet nila sa finale song in fairness with matching tummy hug from the back - CB to rihanna hehe.

Final Thoughts:

This is really the biggest concert of the year from an international act. imagine 70,000 came together - punong puno ang open field near NBC. all roads leads to the fort last sunday. parang parking lot naman sa other open fields hanggang market! market! - i'm not kidding. sumakit din paa ko pauwi, hirap maghanap ng taxi. nyahaha! naubos pa yung load ko kase tinawagan ko pa sila marlon and ren while the two were performing. haha!

On a serious note - well, i can say that they were really, really great. they know how to impress their audience and they look good together. rihanna said "they can't wait to go back" well sana nga.

musings

i woke up early this morning and i decided to take a jog. i can sense that my body needs some stretching and i need to sweat a little. it was fun 'cause there were no cars that went my way maybe it's because of the time. i think it was approximately 530 am. anyways, this would be my last week here in davao, (rejoice! rejoice!) i'm very proud of the outcome after my 2 months of hard work. (and if i say hard work, it really means HARD work.) i can say that my trainees are doing well. the numbers that they are giving us are very impressive! and what i like about it is that they keep on improving; AHT especially the Quality from Austin. well atleast i can say that i did something right.

hay. i'm gonna miss davao.

20 Things I Learned in Davao

hmm. enough! enough! enough!

here in davao, i learned that...

1. saying "para" to manong jeepney driver is "lugar" (in manila, lugar is aka place or location)

2. getting DSL is way cheaper than in manila. it's like most (most and i mean 98%) of establisments have wifi access. and take note it's FREE!

3. samal island is the bora of mindanao. laveeeett!!

4. durian is popular because it's abundant not because of the taste.

5. getting a cab is easy unlike in pasong tamo.

6. my coloureds must not be washed together with my whites. (lagot ako kay mama.)

7. they have the tastiest pizza. picobello is the name :) yumyum!

8. nighlife is limited. all clubs must be close when the clock strucks two a.m.

9. lucky me pancit canton chilimansi goes well with century tuna flakes in oil

10.a good laundry shop is very hard to find.

11. NCCC Mall is more famous than SM

12. PAL is better than Cebu Pacific (blame it on the stupid guard)

13. fireworks are not allowed.

14. the tuition fee in ateneo can zoom up to 600K!

15. viva mineral water is better than Wilkins

16. beer is not on the top of the list. guess what? it's rhum baby! rhum! nyahaha.

17. english is a very hard language.

18. the better you work, the more job load you have. (very true!)

19. dawn zulueta is my neighbour (2 block away!)

20. my company sucks!*

*Disclaimer: just ask me in person. lol

Julie Tearjerky tenenen..

Whoa! I was able to grab a patron ticket for the much awaited reunion concert of the infamous Eraserheads. Good thing they changed the venue from CCP to Fort Open Field which is more convenient on my end because it's just ten minutes away from my house. Anyways, I Über love Eraserheads to the bits. My childhood will never be complete without their music. I mean really! Who will forget Pare Ko and Ligaya? hay. recall, recall, recall.

Everyone came in droves and packs. The show started approximately 8pm with matching countdown on the big screen and the clock strucks 00:00:00 there was a big "SA WAKAS.. ERASERHEADS" text on the wide screen and the Alapaap Intro in the air. The crowd was so wild when Ely started to sing. (My feet still aches as I write this entry) Everything was perfect until Ely's last song Twilight. There was an announcement that there will gonna be a 20 minute break which is normal for a concert (Since the band performed 15 song straight, Evryone thought that everything is okay) Little did we now that the concert already ended. Ely collapsed backstage because of too much stress because of the pressure, non-stop rehearsals and not to mention that her mother died 2 days prior to the concert! His younger sister (forgot the name) and Buddy went up to the stage and delivered the bad news. Everyone was in awe at first. Some are shocked thinking that it's just a hoax but when the whole band came up minus Ely saying their apologies to the audience, i started to feel that this is really happening. There were a lot of emotions that night, but I noticed that it's more on the positive light. I really did appreciate that. I heard someone from my back commending Ely for what he did. Despite of all the things that he's going through, he did find the time to pursue the concert and play for his audience. Aww..

Eventhough the concert cut short, we didn't go home empty handed. Eraserheads will be Eraserheads. Julie Tearjerky tenenen :)

am i going to davao?

i said yes but from the back of my mind, there's someone's saying that i should not. it's crucial but as the same time i find it fun. this is the perfect time for me to have a new environment, new friends, and a fresh start. the thought of leaving my family and friends here in manila saddens me but at the same time it gives me the opportunity to become independent. independent in a sense that i will decide on my own without getting the approval from my parents. nyahaha. it thrills me just by thinking of it what more if it's already there. Hay.
